Merry Christmas

On this Christmas I hope everybody got what they wanted from the oldest to the youngest. I know some kid got the bike he or she wanted and some man got that big flatscreen and some women got the jewelry or exspensive purse or coat or SHOES she wanted. Lord the shoes!! Do you know my wife got so many shoes that she needs a closet just for her shoes. Do you know she tries to tell me it aint that many or she got rid of some of them. Whats that lady name whose husband was the president in that country and she had all those shoes? Maybe I should ask my wife uh! Ok back to my thoughts; even if there was nothing under the tree or even if you didnt even have a tree if you got JESUS  the gift for all who recieve Him, then you have more then what is wanted. You have the Gift that is needed. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Picture This

Thinking back when I was young how my brothers and I would be in hall of the house right next to the wall heater. It would be Christmas morning and we would be waiting for my dad to tell us to come on into the living room to get our gifts. Man the excitement we must have had in our eyes as we entered and saw all the gifts under the tree. I cannot remember one time when we were upset to find out what we got; it was always a joy. As we got older we were able to go and get my mom and dad gifts that brought them joy. I remember one time for their anniversary and I forget which one it was but anyway we all went took some pictures me and my brothers. Now this was back in the day and we were all in suits and we all had afros. We gave them this picture and they still have it to this day. Picture this, me with an afro. Now think about this; most of us if not all consider ourselves to be christians and well we should if we have received Jesus the Son of God. But now that we are older (mature) what are we giving Him. What kind of picture do we present to Him and what does He see. Is that joy in His eyes or is He looking at His children suited up on the outside but raggedy on the inside.

Tis the Season

I wonder how much of the joy we have during this season is really real. Are the smiles on everyones faces real or are they force out? What if the gift someone gets you is not something you like or want. Will you ask them for the receipt? I know what your thinking! It`s the thought that counts; but the other person may think well you don`t think much of me. During this time of year we see a lot of external joy which only last for a season. People sometimes that have been at odds with each other all year falsely come together for the sake of the holidays. Do you remember the song Smiling Faces sometimes they don`t tell the truth, well thats real. I was reading the other day about a man name Philip who went to a city and preached Christ and all the people who received him were healed, freed from bondage and there was great joy in the city. If real joy is missing then the intent and the purpose have to be missing. It`s like cracking eggs and putting them into the washing machine. If Christ is received then the joy becomes internal joy and eternal joy that rest inside of you no matter what. This kind of joy when it is in you, it pushes out hate and strife and sorrow and gives you freedom to live the good life even when you get socks for Christmas. This joy causes you to bring real joy to someone else. Think for moment; have you really unwrapped the gift of Christ. Is your relationship with him really real .He is the real joy that is the strength of life.

Worry

Have you ever been so worried about things in your life or someone in your life that you just feel like a ceramic figurine in the backseat of a pickup on a dirt road. Well I have especially when it came to my children who are 24 and 21. It just seemed like the things that I tried to teach and talk to them about were nonexistent. I was beginning to have cowlicks in my head if you know what I mean so I had to realize something. I was to worried and they were not changing. There was not much peace until I thought about my peace had already been paid for with the blood of Jesus so I just needed to exercise my right to peace. Worry had been stealing my peace but not any more. So if they get it together in a hurry or if it takes some time I have peace.

Something is missing

Have you ever had that feeling that something is missing but you can`t quite put your finger on it. Have you looked around the room and it does not look the same even though it is the same. I was sitting here alone at home by my self and suddenly I realize there is more to this quietness and serenity that I am enjoying right now. What could it be because I enjoy some moments I have to myself so thats not out of the ordinary. After pondering for a minute it came to me what was missing. Where is my worry, torment and struggle; it was missing from mind. The raging sea of worry, the thief of sleep torment and the giants of struggle were vanquish after years of being so present. I simply had decided to exercise my rights of peace and it was now taking affect. Ah tranquility is sweet but don`t get me wrong there is still the potential for all that to still be present. I just choose rather to exercise my rights to have peace that was paid for with HIS blood. Sometimes we have to let go in order to find out what we truly have.

Congrats.

This month marked one year of ministry for Brighter Day Ministries and we are so grateful. At times it didn`t look like we might make it but HE made a way. We found out so much during this journey and we learned some invaulable lessons that are priceless. Alone the way we made some great connection and gain some great relationships with godly people. In the beginning we barely had faith and we weren`t very sure but the Lord gave us momentum along the way. Perhapes their were some who spoke against us and some who may have thought that we were not going to last but we are still here and the Lord has the final say so. We are doing our best to walk in the purpose the Lord has set in this ministry; to save the lost and restore the backslidder. I wrote this for no other reason than to encourage someone who may be pondering their purpose. I know it may seem unreal or even impossible but if the Lord put it in your spirit its possible with Him. Wait if He say wait but by all means move if He says move. HE IS WITH YOU! Let me tell you in advance congrats.

Thanks

During the holiday season we have a lot to be thankful for. Most are thankful for turkey and dressing and all the good foods that will be eaten. Some are thankful for seeing family members that come home for the holidays. A lot of people are thankful to be still here to see another holiday and be in good health. If you really think about it there are some unfortunate people who are sturggling to be grateful this time of the year. For some reason they don`t have any joy and they may be right in your life. Do we have the time for one another any more to notice when something is wrong with our neighbor? Can we possibly put ourselves aside to help somebody feel what we feel even if it takes up most of our time. Even if it takes changing our plans to help someone else find joy. To be thankful is to really be greatful for all that the Lord has done but if there is someone near you and you just don`t have the time or just don`t care; is that your way of telling the Lord thanks?

Brighter Day Blessing-5

It`s amazing sometimes how when certain people that you knew growing up seemed so promising and had so much potential turn out to be someone other than what was expected.I believe that some where alone the way to growing up something happen that destroyed their dreams and goals and they never recovered from it emotionally. Perhaps even after growing up physically they stop growing emotionally and now it shows in there adult life. They still need something to help them cope with what is really wrong on the inside of them. Most grab something that changes their mood or mind to make them feel better or have more courage to keep going on. I met a young man the other day who ask me to help him with a couple of gallons of gas because he had run out. He worked at sonic and still had on his work clothes and had walked to the store. After some conversation I asked him where was his gas can.You should of heard his story. But I saw this as someone who looked promising but was headed the wrong way. Thinking of my own life and how things may have looked at first, which was not promising but by the grace of GOD have turn out pretty good. GOD often takes the life in turmoil and changes it to become a bless life. So often we complain about this and about that and forget to look at how bless we really are. If we stop complaining so much maybe someone will see GOD`S light reflecting in our life and sincerely want what we got; a blessed life in Him. Rather than complain just praise.

Brighter Day Blessing-4

The last time I wrote times where really tough and there seem to be no end to the trail my wife and I where facing. Eventhough we are not completely all the way out we can see some light. I believe the Lord will sometime send trials into ones life for certain reasons and purposes. I found that I needed a lesson in trusting him so he allowed me to go without some stuff and some people so that I could get it. Sometimes we can be to self dependent and people dependent and not enough GOD dependent for our own good. We can hide this from others as much as we like but we have to remember that the Lord sees in the heart. At the end of every hard trial a question should be asked, what did you learn from it. Sad to say that some never learn anything from what they go through and they repeat over and over again. I am glad that I can see that this was needed in my life as GOD continues to move mightly in our life. Last sunday 6-13-10 we were installed as pastors of Brighter Day Ministries and the house was packed to the point that we ran out of chairs.HE is awsome. HE can take a little and do a lot. The tide is turning now and its about to get really bright. No matter what always trust the Lord.

Brighter Day Blessing-3

After six months of ministry we are still around and I am sure there were some nay sayers but God aways knows what he is doing. Recently our numbers have been down and that means finances have gone down as well. It seems that every thing is going in a different direction. Even my cleaning service has suffered and thats my biggest source of income. Now I  have bills due every where and not enough money to cover it all and to top it all off we got two sons in jail. My wife and I have some decisions to make and it is going to take some sacrifice but when I really think about it thats what God did; he sacrificed his Son for us. Now I have to give up some thing so that the ministry can go forward and it is not easy but when I think about the people, I know that I have to press ahead in faith. I have learn that some times when you walk with God the path can get rough but its in those times HE is saying trust me. You can pray to get out of the rough spot and fast but HE will still be saying trust me. It is strange sometimes how the Lord uses life`s pressured situations to teach us lessons we need to know and speak to us in those times words that bless our soul. I find that it is in the dept of our affliction that we find the deepness of his love. I am confident that things are turning around because of the fact that he loves us. When you really love someone you give to them and you share with them. After the rain comes the Son. Brighter days ahead!!!!

Brighter Day Blessing-2

When we really began to understand the position and place that we have in GOD we begin to realize how bless we are. One of the revelations of what JESUS did is he got us back in the place that had been given up by Adam. GOD has given to us our own personal eden. HE provides every thing we need as long as we stay in what he has created and are obedient to his Word. At Brighter Day we have been learning these truths and we consider them to be Brighter Day Blessings. GOD has increased us now to over 30 members in five months and we are still growing. HE is amazing!

Brighter Day Blessing-1

Back in Nov. I posted some comments on the time we had at our first service. Now four months later here we are still having the time of our life. There is something I have began to notice in these four months and that is even though there has been some struggles we are still bless. It can be so hard to see how bless you really are when you focus on the struggle but the dept of the struggle many times determines the height of the blessing. If nothing seems to be looking good right now then perhaps things should be view from a different angle. Thank GOD for visions of brighter days ahead.

HE moves by faith

I have notice that people often get very aggitated at the different trials and events in their life mainly those that say they know GOD and they trust him. My wife and I had a split once in our life and when we came back together the trust had to be built again. Trust is built on the depth of the relationship. If we had not spent time together even while we had seperated we could not have had the trust we have today. The reason why people feel what they feel is because they dont spend quality time with GOD. We have to build a intimate relationship with HIM just like with anyone else. That means time together. The more you are with HIM the more you want to be with HIM. Trust is an element of faith and that is what moves GOD.

Process

Process: A proceeding or moving forward; gradual progress; course; method of manipulation. It is amazing how we go thru life and change from who we were to who we are. When I was a kid me and my friends would find cocoons hanging from a limb and tear them open to expose whats was on the inside. We would always find a worm and never a butterfly. The only way to see the butterfly is to see it after the process. If you look closely at the butterfly you can still see traces of the worm. When I was a kid you would have never been able to figure I would be who I am today. After all the stuff that was a part of my life, after who I use to be, wow! If you look closely I still look sort of the same but I am changed. It is amazing how GOD works.

2010

Another year and everyone is talking about what this year is going to mean to them. Well I might as well put in my thoughts too. I believe this will be a year of greatness and increase for me and my wife and the ministry. One of the main reasons I believe this is because of what GOD told Joshua in Joshua 1:8. Meditate, observe, do my WORD. This is the key to success for me in this year. It was the key to Joshua`s success and GOD hasn`t changed so this is how I will be successful as well. Now I know there are a lot of people who have wrote books and who do speeches on this but I rather take GOD`S WORD on it. The WORD never fails so that to me means success is garrunteed. Many of the most successful people have really taken a principle from the WORD of GOD knowingly or unknowingly and implemented it into their lives. When they give to charities they get a return. In GOD when you give it will be given back and it will be multiplied. But success in GOD is more than money and thats what I am after the FULL BODY SUCCESS. What a term and it means a lot. So I am not chasing houses and cars, I am after FULL BODY SUCCESS. Believe it or not.
